It is essential for people with diabetes to take special care of their feet to avoid serious complications.  Diabetes can damage nerves and blood vessels, causing decreased sensitivity to pain and poor circulation.  Because of this, minor injuries can easily become infected and may even lead to amputation if the wound is unable to heal.  Diabetic feet must be carefully protected against injury and pressure with proper footwear.  Soft, padded inserts provide comfort and protection for the soft tissue and distribute weight equally across the foot to absorb shock.

• If you're a diabetic and have Medicare part B you're entitled to a new pair of shoes and three pairs of inserts every year, and the cost will be covered by Medicare and your secondary insurance.
• At Walk Happy we have a staff that is trained in the fitting and sizing diabetic shoes and custom molded inserts to the foot.
