Driving & Parking: Two of our walks are located near the town of Leavenworth and one at Steven’s Pass.  After registering for the walks, you will drive 11 miles to the trailhead for Nason Ridge or 35 miles to the two trailheads near Leavenworth (Eightmile Lake and Colchuck Lake).  You can pick up the directions for all of the walks when you register at the start of the weekend so that you can start walking as early as you’d like.

Lodging:  If coming from the west, we recommend staying in Leavenworth and doing the Stevens Pass walks on your way into town on Friday and/or out of town on Sunday.   Here’s a good source for Leavenworth lodging:  http://www.leavenworthlodging.org/

Alternatively, there’s lodging a bit closer to Steven’s Pass on the westside.   Check this website for details:  http://www.stevenspass.com/rentals/

Map Walks:  AVA trail markings will be minimal due to wilderness regulations.  However, all of these walks are on well-maintained hiking trails.  Directions and maps will be provided.

Awards & Fees:  A 100% embroidered patch in a diamond shape will be available for $8.00.  50 only—no reorders.  AVA/IVV credit without the award is $3.00.  Free participants are welcome but must register and return a start card.  To pre-register for patch, use this form.

Social Dinner on Saturday Night:   There will be a social dinner on Saturday night held in conjunction with the Bavarian club in Leavenworth.  More details to follow!

Misc:  These are strenuous hikes—be prepared with sturdy hiking shoes and dress appropriately.  Carry water, insect repellant, sunscreen and a snack or lunch on the trail.  There are restrooms at the start location and most of the trailheads.  Dogs are allowed on leash.  Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Directions: I-405 North:  Take exit 23 (Highway 522) Wenatchee/Monroe to Monroe. At Highway 2 intersection turn left and follow Highway 2 - 50 miles east to Stevens Pass Ski Area.  Follow signs for the Nordic Center.   I-5 North: Take exit 194 (Stevens Pass) in Everett and follow Highway 2 - 65 miles to Stevens Pass Ski Area.  Follow signs for the Nordic Center.
