To Participate: Order a program booklet from the Four Plus Foolhardy Folks. Next, fill it with walks in three categories: 1 Extreme distance. Complete 5 walks of 20 kilometers to earn the Marmot level. Complete 1 additional walk of 30K to earn the Mountain Goat level. Complete 1 additional 42K marathon to earn the Golden Eagle level. 2 Extreme altitude. Complete 5 walks at 5000’ above sea level to earn your Marmot level, 1 additional walk at 6000’ to earn a Mountain Goat and 1 additional walk at 7000’ or more to qualify for the Golden Eagle. 3 Extreme terrain. Complete 5 walks rated 4 to earn the Marmot level, 1 additional walk rated 4+ to earn the Mountain Goat level and 1 additional walk rated 5 to earn the Golden Eagle level. Each walk can only count for one Extreme category, even if it might qualify for several and even if re-walked a different year. The lowest level earned in any category (marmot, mountain goat or eagle) when you turn in your booklet will be your final level. A matching pin will accompany the Extreme award patch. The cost of an Extreme program booklet is $10 and includes your booklet, patch and pin award when completed. You can order the booklet on our “Pre-Registration” form on this website or purchase it at one of our weekend events. The program begins Jan 1, 2006 and ends Dec 31, 2008. |

Who knew the answer would be “yes” for so many of you? Due to the popularity of our Extreme program in 2005, we decided to help you to get even more extreme in 2006. Now you can count walks from any club in your quest to fill 3 categories of extreme. And we welcome walkers from Canada and elsewhere to participate. Any IVV walk from anywhere in the world can qualify. It just has to be… extreme. |
